2008 CHAMPIONS
For the 9th edition of the Danone Nations Cup, the competition lived up to all its promises, crowning France at the legendary Parc des Princes stadium.!
After winning the first DNC in 2000, the "tricolores" once again shone on the legendary Parc des Princes pitch. With clean sheets in every match from the round of sixteen onwards, the French side defended consistently well. They were also in inspirational form at the other end of the pitch, scoring five goals against the Czech Republic in the semis, and adding two more to their tally against the Russians in the Final. The first goal in the Final came from an inbounds pass by Gauthier Hein, with Gnaly Cornet placing the ball in the back of the Russian net. At the end of regulation time, Gauthier Hein sealed victory with a second French goal. But let us not forget how the 40 nations thrilled us during these 3 days! For these great moments of intense emotions, we thank you all and can not wait to see you back on the field next year!
