What is the aim of the Danone Nations Cup?
"Groupe DANONE's ambition is to help people around the world grow, live better and get more out of life. That means giving them tastier, more varied and healthier food products, but also encouraging them to take more exercise."
Franck Riboud, CEO of Groupe DANONE.
Health, quality, safety, well-being, development… all these form an integral part of the Groupe DANONE philosophy.
The Danone Nations Cup is part of a wider children's programme introduced by the Group back in 1998. The football World Cup in France and the wave of solidarity and fraternity it generated inspired Franck Riboud to create a global event that would give the world's kids the chance to make their dreams come true: playing in an international football tournament, in a great stadium, meeting the sport's biggest stars, every year.

The values of the event:
The ideology behind the Danone Nations Cup is based on four fundamental values that have helped make the event the world's leading football tournament for children in the 10-12 age group:
Openness: Meeting kids from all over the world and travelling to take part in a prestigious sporting event
Pleasure of the Game: Enthusiasm for football; sharing the excitement of playing in a global competition
Fair Play: Respect for others, for the ethical charter and for the rules of the game, which is signed by the coaches and players and endorsed by FIFA
Accessibility: More and more clubs, schools and children getting out on the pitch every year and more and more spectators in the stands
These values form the backbone of the event and all the teams taking part in the Danone Nations Cup sign the Ethical Charter, requiring them to abide by the rules and respect the values of the tournament.
Fun and generosity:
In addition to being a sporting competition that promotes physical exercise and gives thousands of children the chance to make their dreams come true, the Danone Nations Cup is also a charitable event. Since 2003, the Danone Nations Cup has actively supported the ELA association, sponsored by Zinedine Zidane, by donating all the ticket revenues from the World Final.
In doing so, the Danone Nations Cup doesn't just enable young footballers to "believe in their dreams", it also helps to put a smile back on the faces of children affected by leukodystrophies.
Learning about cultural respect and enrichment:
For the kids, the Danone Nations Cup is more than just a football tournament. It's also a chance for them to meet other children from other cultures, and learn more about the world.
The Danone Nations Cup kids spend a week together, eating together, playing together, in spite of the cultural and language barriers between them. For a child aged between 10 and 12, the DNC represents a fantastic opportunity to discover more about other people and places.
In addition, with the Danone Nations Cup, it's not only the young footballers who get the chance to live their dreams. It's also for children invited by the 40 delegations, the "festifoots". These kids, who have won local prize draws or have been selected by special children's charity programmes, are able to accompany and support their teams on their trip to France. Their dreams come true too…
